BABBLE BEST - MOMMY BLOGGERS
Mommy bloggers make a difference. Sometimes it's their confessional tone that helps you feel like you're not the only one, sometimes their simple honesty puts you at ease, and sometimes they're so funny, you almost snarf your protein shake. There are the bloggers we relate to and there are others we watch like a train wreck, but no matter where we're coming from, we're all part of the same overwhelming, magical situation.
That's why we're dedicating the inaugural Babble Top 50 list to those who know best: moms. Babble staff and contributors compiled our top mommy-blogger picks based on the following criteria: most controversial, funniest, most confessional, best design, most useful and best written (though we left off Babble's own mommy bloggers because, as with our own kids, we couldn't possibly pick a favorite). These are our picks, but we're sure you'll have something to say on the matter, too.

While Dooce tells it like it is, Design Mom paints a pretty picture of what it could be. If only design and motherhood could fit together as easily as they do on Gabrielle Blair’s mommy blog! A design/art director and mother of five, Blair’s blog caters to those of us who aspire to bake the family a pie right after making a DIY ruffle tee and before taking off for a weekend of wine tasting. Handmade, eco-friendly, vintage and heirloom products and clothes abound - thrifty moms look elsewhere! If you’re a glutton for unique thank-you cards, frilly pom-poms, gifts that are “just-so,” and tulle tutorials, (whether or not you’ll buy or use them), prepare to find yourself whiling away hours browsing through gorgeous images in a world where everything is effortlessly lovely and charming. Blair’s known for her superb style sense (she was formerly an art director in New York) and also as the founder of Kirtsy, the women-centered online community known as “Digg for Chicks.”
