Is anyone else bored of all the whiny, negative articles about pregnancy whose authors seem to think they're going to be refreshing? I know everyone's experience is different (although the use of the 2nd person in this article doesn't seem to suggest that), but really - it's not so bad.

Actually, I thought pregnancy was awful. I was going to write how strongly I identified with this piece and could have written it myself. I'm not sure where you're reading these negative articles about pregnancy, esque, because all I've ever seen are the "most joyous experience of your life" propaganda pieces.

I just wish there wasn't this great big expectation that it is bliss. My pregnancy is normal-bad and good days, food issues here and there, tired and bouts of energy etc. I laugh with my husband about being forgetful and clingy sometimes.
My co-worker wanted to know if I felt the baby yet, because that is a , "true miracle from God". I just found that so odd, because I do think it is really cool, and I am looking forward to it, but enough already.
I am a little embarrassed to say that it is kinda boring. It is what it is. Am I terrible?

yeah, this left a bad taste in my mouth...kind of a lorrie moore rip off--i was half expecting it to be "How to Be Pregnant," in the Moore-vein. I expected something, anything a bit more refreshing...

Well I thought it was amazing, reassuring, touching, honest, wonderful. And I hate almost everything.

I liked this article. Especially that line about pregnancy vs. bourbon.
I'm still in the first trimester and I feel sick and exhausted all the time. I do have moments when I am very happy, but a lot of time I just feel worried and sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I loved it, too! I'm 36 weeks, and the last thing I'm thinking about right now is how wonderful it is to be bringing a baby home in three weeks. Instead, I'm pissed about how my car isn't big enough for the carseat (I have a Matrix, for cripes' sake!), how daycare is so FRIGGIN' expensive I'll have to make twice as much as before to just cover the infant rate, and how my husband looks green around the gills when he watches my belly move. Not exactly the TLC moment I was expecting ...
Incidentally, I love how she kept talking about her husband sleeping. I can't wait to start bottle-feeding so I'm not the only sleep-deprived person tortured every night with feedings.
