  2. $$$$$$$ down the drain. Sure many of these products are cute, but I'd only purchase them if I had a little more disposable income. That little footstool? Target or Ikea for under $10. The one product that made me laugh, but then gave me pause, was the spoon shooter. Seriously that's gotta be a joke. How mean! If you actually are that pressed for time, you have to give up something else - like eyeliner.

  3. Some of these products would actually ADD time to my morning--like if I actually "packed my own lunch" or "tamed my bed-head."

  4. as a user of the so-called "spoon shooter" it's actually quite easy to use...and my son loves it because the food comes to him much more quickly and easily and let me tell you LESS MESS. No more screams between bites when you take the spoon away from the mouth area to "refill" for a few nano seconds. It's also great for when we go out to dinner...I pre-fill it, put the cap on and we're good to go. I'm actually a huge fan of this at first, silly seeming product.

  5. Where do I get a job that doesn't start until 9 am??? I suppose the same job would let me go at 5 pm sharp. And let me take an hour lunch...

  6. How can you say that a suction cup bowl is the solution to keeping kids from making a mess? My daughters quickly learned how to locate the tab to detach the suction cup from the high chair tray or table and then it was as messy as any other round bowl. I actually invented a new type of baby bowl, the Baby Dipper bowl, and it is now available through my web site: www.babydipper.com. This bowl lets kids collect the food into a rounded corner at the bottom of a slanted bowl, making it super easy for kids to get every bit of food out of the bowl. The vertical sides encourage them to scoop the food up, not out of the bowl. I have two sets of twins under the age of four, so it's items like this that help me save time. I hope that other moms will agree with me.

  7. I agree with 2times2--the suction cup bowls are useless.

I love the velcro shoes, but here's my problem--my kids are extremely tall, so my just-turned-5-year-old wears a size 13. 13s very rarely come with velcro, because it's assumed that kids that big can tie laces. Sigh.

  8. In an effort to spotlight all these products, a product was suggested that contains silica. The California Baby Hair De-Tangler contains silica which has been linked to cancer, allergies/immunotoxiity, persistence and bioaccumulation, organ system toxicity, and biochemical or cellular level changes.

Many de-tanglers contain very dangerous chemicals and if you're daughter's hair is like my daughter, then the need for de-tanglers is constant...i.e. continued daily use. I'm currently looking for a product that we can use daily that isn't linked to any dangerous chemicals. I was hopeful however the disappointment of the ingredient and the initial listing squashed that quickly.

I highly suggest checking the products that you and your children use on a daily basis agains the Skin Deep Cosmetic Safety Database www.cosmeticdatabase.com. You might be shocked to find out what chemicals you're applying to your skin and hair on a daily basis.

  9. Suction bowls suck. My kids immediately wondered why the bowl didn't move and then set to figure it out. Which often lead to A LOT more mess when they finally would get it "unstuck" suddenly and wa la... let's clean the window now.
