  • Every Parent Owns Cranky Pants

I didn't realize how truly crabby I could get until I had children. There's just something about having someone say "mom" nine bazillion times when you are already irritated with pretty much everything that can send you into a nuclear-grade grouch. And once there, it's a short trip...

  • Re: Welcome!

Here's what worked for my darling daugter... We started with Gripe Water, suggested by my midwife. It is holistic and settles unhappy tummies... When baby takes Gripe Water - momma/gmamma should take "Rescue Remedy" this helps with the anxiety of listening to a screaming baby... another...

Hey folks -- Yes, we *definitely* plan to add RSS throughout Babble ... we hope to roll that out along with a number of other new features in the next few months. All other suggestions for new features (whether functionality of content) are much appreciated. -- Rufus

I did catch that threads will eventually be categorized, but I doubt that will address the issue entirely. I've been on a handful of message boards, each employing its own strategy for usability. Categorization of threads is by far the most common strategy, but it always - always - fails to some degree...

I for one would appreciate the ability to hide individual threads. There are currently three pages of topics, but most of them are not interesting to me personally. Rather than wading through all of the topics and trying to remember which threads interest me, it would be helpful to have a way to focus...

I say the car seat is worth trying, given that kids are familiar with them, sit more comfortably in them and rest their head against the sides of them when they do finally fall asleep and you won't have to fight to keep them in their seats, buckle seat belt, etc ... basically, it helps constrain them...

We've flown a lot with our son (starting at 4 months, he's now 22 months) and we've experimented with a wide range of things to ensure a relatively calm flight. We tried Benadryl and, of course, our son was in that small percentage of kids that go bananas on it. He would not sit still and we were on...

My family is on the west coast so we did a lot of flying back and forth (flights from NYC to SF are about 5-6 hours.) Here are my suggestions for easy flights: 1. Pack a lot of finger foods -- and not that you want your child to be hopped up on sugar, but trading in some regular cheerios for the honey...
