    I have had a lot of surgery in my life, including the removal of my whole dysfunctional colon due to Crohn's disease in 1996 (I'm fine now, thanks). So when I was a pregnant granola-wannabe, my doc opined that a planned C-section was probably the way to go, because if I DID go commando and needed a cesarian...

    yes, this is definitely a controversial subject. my opinion is that an elective c-section is something that should absolutely be available to women who choose that approach, and it is not my place to judge that decision. it is not a choice i would make, and i don't understand wanting that choice, but...
