Marquis Cooper's Boating Accident Case Closed

The investigation of the boating accident Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith and Will Bleakley has been concluded and the cause of the accident was improper anchoring.

In the report that was released today it was determined that boat capsized when they tried to use the throttle to dislodge the anchor. It was a combination of things really, the improper anchoring, the lack of slack on the anchor line for water conditions.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commision report: The four men attempted to lift the anchor at about 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 and were unable to get it to release from the bottom of the Gulf. Bleakley suggested they use the motor to pull it loose, according to the account of Schuyler, who said he used a watch with a light to keep track of the time throughout the event.

It's just so sad that these men who were fathers, sons, brothers and friends died. Now that the shock of the situation has worn off, we again send our condolences to the families.

Nicole Murphy and Michael Strahan Seem Like They're Having a Good Time

Nicole Murphy and her boyfriend Michael Strahan took Nicole's daughters Zola and Bella (dad is Eddie Murphy) to the premiere of Monsters Vs. Aliens at Universal Studios earlier this week. They seem like they had a good time, and weren't too concerned with the fact that ex-Giants player Strahan had a tracking device installed in his girlfriend's car recently to keep track of her.

The story is that Strahan suspected Nicole of having an affair with record executive Demetrius Spencer and had a GPS installed in the dashboard of her Range Rover. Nicole found out and drama ensued, but apparently she forgave him because here she is enjoying a nice day out with him and her kids. Confused? It gets stickier - the buzz is that Strahan's suspicions about Nicole's affair may be true. Celebrities' lives are so exhausting.

Whatever the case, it looks like Lola and Bella were able to escape all of the adults' madness and enjoy their time at Monster Vs. Aliens. But I still can't help but wonder if Strahan followed Nicole when she went to get popcorn.

Pass The Binky: NFL Player Shaun Alexander is a Dad

Former Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander and his wife Valerie welcomed a baby boy on March 3. Alexander wrote about his newborn son, Joseph Prince Alexander, on his personal blog, relaying the news that the baby is "healthy" and that mom Valerie is doing "great." Wait - football players have time to blog?

Joseph is the fourth child for the couple; they have three daughters - Heaven, 4; Trinity; 3, and Eden, 1. When the pregnancy was revealed last year, Alexander said that he was hoping for another girl. "“I hope it’s another girl, but [wife Valerie] wants a boy.” The poor little dude's outnumbered for sure.

Congratulations to the Alexanders on their new arrival!

T.O. is OUT: Dallas Cowboys Release Terrell Owens

Controversial wide receiver Terrell Owens was released from the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday night. I guess the good news is that Owens will have some free time to spend with sons Terique and Atlin, who he has often said are such an inspiration to him.

From MSNBC:

The Dallas Cowboys released Terrell Owens on Wednesday night, several outlets reported, citing unnamed team sources.

The Dallas Morning News, ESPN and Fox all reported the news, citing unnamed team sources.

The Cowboys informed Owens that they had decided to go another direction Wednesday night, the Morning News reported.

Owens played three seasons with the Cowboys. He received a $12 million signing bonus last year as part of a four-year, $34 million deal.

The Cowboys will take a salary cap hit of roughly $9 million next season, the Morning News reported.

The news comes after a heated 2008 campaign in which Owens was caught up in several controversies and the Cowboys - thought to be Super Bowl contenders - missed the playoffs.

Maybe T.O. can use his new unemployed status to help out his toddler son Atlin with his modeling career. The youngster is featured in ads for the Spring ‘09 clothing line for Famous Stars and Straps (FSAS) a clothing and accessory line created by another dad - ex-Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.

I hope the little guy isn't listening to the news of his dad's firing on that boombox.

The Search is Over for Marquis Cooper

The Coast Guard suspended the search for Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith and William Bleakley last night, but will resume the search if they receive any new information.

The Coast Guard announced, "We're extremely confident that if there were any survivors on the surface of the water that we would have found them."

Our hearts go out to the families of the lost men. I know we still have hope they will be found, however, the Coast Guard, besides finding Nick Schuyler, only found a cooler and a life jacket.

We hope that the Coast Guard will find something to give them a reason to search longer, any trace of them would be welcome news.

Has Marquis Cooper Been Found Alive?

There are conflicting reports on whether the Coast Guard has found Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper alive after being lost at sea since Saturday evening. A CBS affiliate in Tampa posted the following announcement earlier:

We have just learned from Rebekah Cooper that they found Marquis Cooper alive. We are awaiting more detail.

The station later posted another update that seemed to pull back from the original story:

We have just learned from a family member that Marquis Cooper may be alive. We are awaiting more detail.

Earlier today Nick Schuyler, a former University of South Florida player, was found clinging to the capsized boat. Schuler, Cooper, free-agent defensive lineman Corey Smith and former South Florida player William Bleakley had set out on a fishing trip on Saturday when it flipped in rough seas.

In an earlier interview Cooper's wife Rebekah called the ordeal "her worst nightmare" and said, “It feels like my greatest fear coming true." The couple have a 3-year-old daughter.

I feel for Cooper's family, especially in light of all the uncertainty. As a parent, I imagine one of the hardest things must be remaining calm and keeping a positive outlook for the sake of their daughter.

BREAKING NEWS: Victoria Beckham Shows Emotion

Here's a shocker: In a recent interview, Victoria Beckham reveals that not only does she like to party, but that she has a good time doing it. "We went to Napa for my birthday. David organized a surprise and we all got drunk and had a laugh.”

I have a feeling that when Posh tries to laugh, she opens her mouth and something that sounds like a moose dying comes out. But she insists she really, really is the life of the party, people!

“You know I might look like a stony-faced pain-in-the-a** cow but in actual fact I like to have a laugh. I do like to have a drink and have a laugh, that kind of thing. I really don’t take myself too seriously, contrary to what people think. I think it’s important.”

Maybe I've been wrong about Posh all these years. In fact, just look at her in this picture - she can hardly contain her joy! Party on Spice!

Tom Brady Confronts Gisele's Ex

Okay, so it wasn't so much a confrontation as it was an awkward attempt to pretend that Leo DiCaprio doesn't exist, but still: AWKWARD.

Tom and Gisele were partying at NY hotspot Butter last night while Gisele's ex-paramour Leo sat two tables away. Sources say that the two parties studiously ignored each other, and that Leo didn't even look up when Gisele walked right by him to leave.

Okay, so there's really no story here. This whole post was really just an excuse for me to make the following statement: Leo DiCaprio is way hotter than Tom Brady. And, also, probably, less of a douche.

There. Got that out of my system.

Britney Spears Parties With Tony Romo Who I Thought Owned a Restaurant

Okay, I don't know crap about football, so I have to admit when I first saw the headlines I thought "Well, the guy sure knows how to barbecue a good rib." Of course, turns out it wasn't Tony Roma she's hanging out with, but Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. If you ask me she'd be better off with someone who knows how to cook a pigskin than throw one, but that's just me.

After her long court hearing on Friday Spears and friend/cousin/lover Alli Sims met up with Romo and his posse at L.A. restaurant Ketchup and then headed over to hotspot Les Deux. E! Online reports that Spears changed her outfit three times during the evening. Who the eff cares? All I know is now I'm hungry for big plate of baby backs and a side of cole slaw.
