Teri Hatcher Likes to Gamble, Says It's to Teach Her Daughter Math

Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher likes to hit the track every once in a while, but don't think she's just throwing her money away. Hatcher says she uses the outing to help daughter Emerson Rose, 11, with her math skills.

"I go to the track with my mother and my daughter,’ the actress says of her annual Mother's Day outing with Emerson and her own mom, Esther. ‘I do use the opportunity to make [Emerson] understand math, and what you’re betting and what you get back. This year, she did all the winning.

"I gave her a certain amount of dollar bills and she knew she had to divide them up by how many races there were, and figure out the odds…I made myself believe I was giving her math lessons. So we work on math. It’s fun."

I don't blame Teri - us moms have to get creative to justify our personal time. For example, I use my daily Starbucks runs to teach my daughters about caffeine addiction, and how to hone their people skills. You won't get that extra shot of espresso for free if you're mean to the barista.

Kate Gosselin Bikini Pics: Why?

Hey look - it's another picture of Kate Gosselin in a bikini. The mother of eight hasn't been shy about flaunting her bod on the beach lately and why not - when your husband is out drinking and shopping with other women a girl's got a right to display the goods. Besides, I hear bodyguards really dig two-pieces.

Also, it could have something to do with the news that the number of viewers of Monday's episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8 dropped significantly; on Kate's latest beach outing she was accompanied by a camera crew for her TLC reality show. Nothing like showing a little skin to bring the viewers back.

Is Angelina Jolie Faking It?

It was the bump heard 'round the world: Angelina Jolie suffered a head injury on Friday while performing a stunt on the set of her film Salt. But was the whole thing just a publicity stunt? A production assistant on the set says Angie definitely needs to have her head examined, but not for a physical injury.

According to the source, the actress' 'injury' was really just a way to get attention and publicity. “She hit her head lightly and there was no scratch evident,” the production assistant says. "There was absolutely no reason to take her to the hospital. She was whisked away as if she had just been shot. Everybody on the set thought this was a scene being filmed for the movie."

So why would she need any more attention - she's Angelina Jolie for crying out loud. Brad has been in the press frequently, often seen shuttling the couple's six kids around Long Island while mom is busy filming, so maybe it was Angie's way of getting back in the spotlight? Maybe Brad gave her a really crappy Mother's Day gift and this was her way of making him feel sorry for her? Perhaps she just wanted a little R&R and the idea of being away from the kids in a hospital bed with a 24-hour nurse sounded really good?

Or maybe she really did injure herself and those of us who doubt her are in for some really bad karma?

Get a Room: Halle Berry and Jamie Foxx Heat Up The Spike TV Awards (PHOTOS)

Halle Berry, you've just been given the Decade of Hotness award by Spike TV - what are you going to do now? She didn't go to Disneyland, I can tell you that much. After Jamie Foxx presented Halle with the award, the two of them proceeded to make out like a couple of teenagers in heat. A couple of unbelievably gorgeous, wildly rich teenagers in heat.

The two locked lips and then starting groping each other; first Jamie grabbed Halle's ass, and then Halle grabbed Jamie's package. Wow - and I thought Bruno's bare butt-cheeks were the hottest thing I'd ever seen on an awards show.

I wonder if Halle's daughter Nahla was watching? If not, someday she'll be able to Google these photos. Then, Halle can just tell her that Mommy was grabbing Uncle Jamie down there because she was looking for that pack of gum in his pocket.

Tina Fey Takes Her Daughter to Work

Tina Fey was spotted taking daughter Alice, 3, to the movies in Santa Monica on Saturday. For a writer and producer like Tina, I guess this could be considered Take Your Daughter to Work Day. At least that's what I call it when I invite my daughters to sit in my office and watch me blog.

I just read that Tina and Robert Downey, Jr. are going to voice characters in a movie for Dreamworks. Titled Oobermind, the movie stars Downey as "a supervillain who pines for the good old days after finally defeating his arch nemesis." It doesn't say what part Tina would play, but I'll bet it's the Gwyneth-Paltrow-Iron-Man-Secretary part. Too bad - Tina would kick ass as the arch nemesis.

Jennifer Hudson is Pregnant and Showered

Jennifer Hudson is finally confirming that she is pregnant! And what an appropriate way to announce the big news - she released details about her baby shower. The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the mom-to-be was showered over the weekend at a small gathering held in a relatives home in downtown Chicago. Hudson is engaged to Harvard-educated-lawyer-turned-wrestler David Otunga.

"It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family," said Felicia Fields, a longtime friend of the actress. "They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet. It was a nice time that we had."

When asked about the gender of the baby, Fields replied, "They don't know."

Hudson certainly deserves some good news in her life; seven months ago her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were murdered.

The actress, 27, has declined to divulge any details about her upcoming wedding to Otunga, but she did tell USA Today that it will be "traditional, and very, very classy. I'll be surrounded by family and friends. I hope that when I'm 80 years old, people will still be talking about my wedding."

In an interview with Access Hollywood earlier this year, the actress also said she plans to include her three dogs - Oscar, Grammy and Dreamgirl -- in the ceremony. "Oscar might be the ring bearer. We'll send them down the aisle with a little tux."

Bruno Assaults Eminem at MTV Movie Awards (VIDEO)

The big news at the MTV Movie Awards tonight wasn't who won a Golden Popcorn trophy, but what was up with that incident between Eminem and Sacha Baron Cohen? Cohen, dressed in wings and feathers as Bruno, his flamboyantly gay character, flew over the audience at the Universal Amphitheater before presenting the award for Best Male Performance. The guy's got balls, and apparently wanted to show them to Eminem.

After a short flight he landed in Eminem's lap, with his bare buttocks right in the rapper's face.

A visibly upset Emimen yelled, "Are you serious? Get the ****** off me!" to which Cohen replied, "Nice to meet you."

A short scuffle ensued as the rapper's bodyguards attempted to pull Cohen off of him, and he yelled, "Hey, don't touch me! I've already got a boyfriend!"

Once Cohen was pulled off, Eminem stormed out of the theater followed by his bodyguards.

I wonder if Cohen's daughter Olive was watching the whole spectacle? While I'm sure it was disturbing to see your dad's butt mere inches away from a strange man's snarling face, maybe it was cool to see him dressed like an angel and flying over everyone's heads. Daddy's funny!

Halle Berry and Daughter Nahla Start The Day Off Right

Halle Berry and daughter Nahla were snapped after having breakfast at the Griddle Cafe in West Hollywood. When my kids were babies, I remember breakfast being my favorite meal to take them out to. They were usually well rested and unlikely to have a meltdown. Also, that early in the day there was only coffee, and no expensive martinis for them to knock over. Most of the time.

Speaking of eating, Berry has said that one of the best parts of being pregnant was having a lot of the media spotlight off of her figure. “It was the first red carpet that I’ve really walked down where I didn’t have to think about holding in my stomach," she said of last year's Palm Springs International Film Festival. "It’s the first time I’ve been to an awards show where they served a meal and I actually ate it. I was eating off everybody else’s plate and that felt very liberating and good.”

Melissa Joan Hart Has a Fondness for Jelly Bellies and Nerds

But only the ones she sells in her candy store. The actress celebrated the grand opening of her own sweet shop in Los Angeles on Saturday, along with husband Mark Wilkerson, 32, lead singer for the band Course of Nature, and their sons Mason, 3, and Braydon, 14 months. I'll go ahead and state the obvious - they were like kids in a candy store!

Hart says the store is the culmination of a life-long goal. "It's been a dream of mine since I was a kid," she says of the idea she came up with together with mom Paula Hart. "I'm so excited to start this next adventure in my life." The star of Sabrina the Teenage Witch had friends Kellie Martin, Soleil Moon Frye and Jaime Pressly at the opening to start her on her way.

The store, cleverly named SweetHarts, features 200 different kinds of candy including Big League Chew, Jelly Bellies, Candy Lipstick, Nerds, Junior Mints and Bubble Tape gum.
They'll also sell frozen yogurt in flavors such as peach and bubble gum. "I love all the different candy because they remind me of my childhood," says Hart as she served up yogurt from behind the counter. "I can't wait for my kids to have their birthday parties here."

My teeth hurt just thinking about it. Which means I need to head on over there right away.

Heidi Klum Gets Daughter Leni an Expensive 'Do

Heidi Klum took daughter Leni to posh children's salon Tipperary in Beverly Hills this weekend. The place is great for maybe catching a glimpse of celebrities and their kids, but I think it's a little pricey for kids' haircuts. What's wrong with a good pair of scissors and a bowl, is what I say.

Klum and husband Seal are expecting their fourth child, a girl, later this year. That's a lot dough to drop for all those kids' haircuts at Tipperary. Then again, Klum was just named No. 2 on Forbes' list of the World's Top Earning Models, so I guess a few bucks more for a five-year-olds pixie cut isn't going to faze her.

But if you get tired of paying those prices, Heidi, I'll be waiting here with a clean chair and a sharp pair of scissors.
