Jennifer Hudson is Pregnant and Showered

Jennifer Hudson is finally confirming that she is pregnant! And what an appropriate way to announce the big news - she released details about her baby shower. The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the mom-to-be was showered over the weekend at a small gathering held in a relatives home in downtown Chicago. Hudson is engaged to Harvard-educated-lawyer-turned-wrestler David Otunga.

"It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family," said Felicia Fields, a longtime friend of the actress. "They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet. It was a nice time that we had."

When asked about the gender of the baby, Fields replied, "They don't know."

Hudson certainly deserves some good news in her life; seven months ago her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were murdered.

The actress, 27, has declined to divulge any details about her upcoming wedding to Otunga, but she did tell USA Today that it will be "traditional, and very, very classy. I'll be surrounded by family and friends. I hope that when I'm 80 years old, people will still be talking about my wedding."

In an interview with Access Hollywood earlier this year, the actress also said she plans to include her three dogs - Oscar, Grammy and Dreamgirl -- in the ceremony. "Oscar might be the ring bearer. We'll send them down the aisle with a little tux."

It's Going To Be a Girl For Lakisha Jones

Former American Idol contestant Lakisha Jones announced last month that she was pregnant, and now she's revealing that she and husband Larry Davis are expecting a daughter who they will name Ava. Jones also has a daughter Brionne, 6, from a previous relationship.

But Jones is less willing to divulge who's her favorite Idol contestant this season. ""I don't have [a favorite]," she said in an interview with PopEater. "They are all really good. One thing I do like about Adam is that he's unique. He can go from being a rocker with painted nail polish to clean cut, modern day Elvis Presley."

And who does she think will win? "It may have a twist ... no one really knows how many people voted for each contestant ... you never know what the outcome is ... it could be Kris Allen."

'Idol' Winner David Cook Announces his Brother's Passing at 5K Race (VIDEO)

American Idol winner David Cook's brother Adam has lost his battle with cancer. Cook announced the sad news before the Race for Hope 5K in Washington, D.C. on Sunday. The event benefits brain cancer research.

"I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor," Cook said, fighting back tears, "and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now."

Despite the devastating news, Cook says he never considered pulling out of the event and wanted to participate in honor of his late brother. "My brother never wanted his illness to affect others," Cook wrote on his Celebrity MySpace page. "That was evident in the fact that he wanted his illness to have no part in my experience on Idol, a point he was quite adamant about. So, with that wish in mind, I ran and was involved with the event as an homage to him."

Adam Cook is survived by his wife and two children. This is surely an incredibly difficult time for all of them - especially the kids who are no doubt reeling from the loss of their father. Our thoughts go out to them.

What Did David Spade Do On American Idol? (VIDEO)

Everyone's talking about what happened last night on American Idol, and no, it's not Megan Joy's last (thank God) performance. It was what took place behind judge Randy Jackson as he critiqued contestant Lil Rounds. David Spade appears to take the gum out of his mouth and stick it under his chair. Okay, not exactly an earth-shattering event, but it was either this or I write another post about Octomom. I knew you'd come around.

But what about the poor guys who have to clean that gum out from under those chairs? Luckily, Spade's daughter Harper is too young to watch AI to see what a poor example dad is setting. Sure, today it's only putting gum under the seat, but inevitably that leads to smoking crack behind a trailer. At least that's what happens on HBO.

Although, all of that is probably less damaging to little Harper than watching dad in Joe Dirt.

American Idol's Lakisha Jones is Pregnant

American Idol finalist Lakisha Jones and husband Larry Davis are expecting their first child together. The season 6 competitor (she finished fourth) also has a daughter, 6-year-old Brionne, who encouraged her to try out for AI. You know, I don't get it - my kids are always trying to get me not to sing.

Jones has a busy few months ahead of her - her debut album, “So Glad I’m Me,” hits the stores in May and the baby is expected in August.

But you won't hear her complaining. “Family is important to both of us, and so we’re really looking forward to our new baby’s arrival,” she says. “What can I say? With the baby coming and the release of my first album - when I think about all the goodness in my life right now, everyday I think ‘I’m so glad I’m me!” Hey, that would make a great name for an album.

American Idol: Will Lil Rounds Make It to the Next Round?

I'm sure American Idol contestant Lil Rounds is tired of all the puns using her name, but it's pretty hard to resist. Does she not have the best name, totally ready-made for stardom? Just be glad I didn't go with my first title, 'Judges Leave Lil Rounds Hanging a-Round." Thanks, I'll be here all week!

If you watched last night's show you know that Rounds killed it - her rendition of Mary J. Blige's 'Be Without You' was awesome and even Simon called it "Brilliant." I'm a huge Mary J. fan and love that song, and I have to say Rounds absolutely did it justice.

And to top it off, Rounds has a story that America loves - at 23 she's a wife and mother of three young children. Her home was destroyed last year in a tornado, but she persevered to follow her AI dreams.

It will be interesting to see how Rounds juggles motherhood with her life in the spotlight. Having young kids is tough as it is, but the pressures of being a part of something as huge as AI will certainly make it more challenging. But Rounds seems pretty grounded, and hopefully she'll keep it all together. I wish I could think of another pun to finish this post, but lucky for everyone I'm all out.

American Idol's Kara DioGuardi is Engaged...and About to Become a Mom!

American Idol's newest judge, Kara DioGuardi has had a busy couple of months. Along with having to prepare for Tuesday night's premiere of the eighth season of American Idol, DioGuardi just revealed that she got engaged to boyfriend Mike McCuddy on December 8 while they were vacationing in Mexico. According to her rep, "No wedding has been planned," which makes me think they're just waiting for the AI season to be over so they can talk the top twelve into singing at their ceremony.

McCuddy, who is descrbed as a "former school teacher-turned-general-contractor," is also a dad. Which means that along with becoming a bride and a new AI judge, DioGuardi will also become a mom! Looks like her multi-tasking may give Ryan Seacrest a run for his money.

Clay Aiken is a Push-Over

Looks like new dad Clay Aiken is putty in the teeny hands of his newborn son. Talking about 3-1/2 month old son Parker, Aiken says, "I'm trying my best to be the one who doesn't always let him get what he wants, but he owns us." Speaking from experience, I say they're never too young to get grounded - a week without internet access and his pacifier should put you right back in control, Clay.

But looks like the baby's mother and Aiken's good friend Jaymes Foster really calls the shots. "It was probably a week before [she] had to change a diaper at all!" the singer tells Entertainment Tonight. Really? A week before she had to change a diaper? This woman is my new hero.

Spitzer Hooker "Kristen"'s Mom Speaks Out

The young woman - Ashley Alexandra Dupre - who has been revealed as the young prostitute who dallied with NY Governor Eliot Spitzer says on her MySpace page that she's the product of a broken home and abuse. But her mom says that she's worried about her girl, and that she's 'shocked' that Ashley had gotten herself involved in a life of prostitution.

Ashley's mother, Carolyn Capalbo, told the New York Times that after her daughter finished sophomore year in high school, Ms. Dupré moved to North Carolina. “She was a young kid with typical teenage rebellion issues, but we are extremely close now,” Ms. Capalbo said in a telephone interview Wednesday.

Ashely's mom also told the Times that she was “shell-shocked” when her daughter called in the middle of last week and told her she had been working as an escort and was now in trouble with the law. She said she was not sure that Ms. Dupré realized who Mr. Spitzer was when he was her client.

“She is a very bright girl who can handle someone like the governor,” Ms. Capalbo said. “But she also is a 22-year-old, not a 32-year-old or a 42-year-old, and she obviously got involved in something much larger than her.”

Exactly. 22 YEARS OLD. Barely a couple of years older than Spitzer's own daughters. Which, you know, makes this all the sadder. If I were her mom, I'd be, like, out for Spitzer's blood.
