Matthew Settle's Got a Brand New Gossip Girl

Matthew Settle, who plays dad Rufus on Gossip Girl, is now a dad in real life. Settle and his wife, actress Naama Nativ, 25, welcomed daughter Aven Angelica this afternoon. She weighed a healthy 8 lbs., 11 oz., which is about the same weight as some of the actresses on her dad's show.

"Baby and mother are happy and healthy and the new parents are thrilled," says the actor's rep, Christina Papadopoulos.

One of the best things about this job is looking at adorable kids and babies, believe it or not. But if you tell anyone I said that, I'll have to shoot you.

While Ben Affleck is in Washington playing around at the silly presidential inauguration, and wife Jennifer Garner is busy with the newest Affleck, Grandma Affleck is helping out with Violet.

They went out to a park in Los Angeles on Sunday and 3-year-old Violet had a blast running around, feeding the ducks, and basking in the knowledge that she can now reign supreme over her little sibling, Seraphina.

Isn't she a cute little tyrant-to-be?

I recently interviewed Jessica Alba for the new issue of Genlux Magazine. I met her for lunch, asked her a few questions and used a tape recorder just like a real professional. She didn't even seem to mind when I stole her napkin to sell on eBay.

My favorite part of the interview? Alba was pregnant at the time and I asked her about pregnancy cravings - she said she wasn't having any but then proceeded to order a plate of fruit...with a side of brussel sprouts.

I told her how odd that was, took a bite of my fish and mango quesadilla and then asked her about the possibility that she would allow her child to go into show business. Fantastic Four Fifteen, perhaps?

“No! Hell, no! Absolutely not. The life that I had, it was for a reason. There was nothing else for me to do. There was something that I saw at a very young age, and there was a reason why I made such a bold decision early on.

"My kid’s going to grow up really differently, with a lot more opportunities, especially educational opportunities and a different kind of financial stability that I just didn’t have."

Alba and husband Cash Warren welcomed a healthy daughter. Honor Marie, on June 7.

First Grandchild of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Is Born

The first grandchild of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. was born Sunday in Atlanta. Martin Luther King III and his wife Arndrea Waters King welcomed a girl, Yolanda Renee King. The girl carries the first name of her father's sister, the oldest of the four King children, who died last year.

In a statement the new father says, "We are excited about our precious gift from God and cannot express how fortunate we feel to have our beautiful baby girl. It is truly the happiest day of our lives. I know my parents are smiling down from heaven,"

Congratulations! This is one legacy that deserves to live on.

Tom Brady Confronts Gisele's Ex

Okay, so it wasn't so much a confrontation as it was an awkward attempt to pretend that Leo DiCaprio doesn't exist, but still: AWKWARD.

Tom and Gisele were partying at NY hotspot Butter last night while Gisele's ex-paramour Leo sat two tables away. Sources say that the two parties studiously ignored each other, and that Leo didn't even look up when Gisele walked right by him to leave.

Okay, so there's really no story here. This whole post was really just an excuse for me to make the following statement: Leo DiCaprio is way hotter than Tom Brady. And, also, probably, less of a douche.

There. Got that out of my system.

Gretchen Mol Gives Her Son a Freaky Name; Guarantees Him a Lifetime of Ass-Kickings

In a highly unusual move, a celebrity has given their offspring a weird name. Actress Gretchen Mol gave birth to a baby boy and named him...Ptolemy. You can't make this shit up. I can't even pronounce it. I Googled it, and found out Ptolemy is the name of an ancient Greek astronomer. Apparently Gretchen and her husband, director Tod Williams, felt there were already too many Galileos and IsaacNewtons in their playgroup.

Also, Mol gave birth on September 10, so I don't know why we're just finding out about it now. I'm thinking it took them thirty-four whole days just to be able to say the name with a straight face.

24 Welcomes No. 2: Kim Raver Has a Baby

24 actress Kim Raver gave birth to a baby boy, Leo Kipling Boyer today in New York. This is the second son for Raver and her husband, French filmmaker Manu Boyer. Their other son, Luke West, is 5.

In totally unrelated, incongruous news, Raver's 24 co-star Kiefer Sutherland reached a plea deal today in his DUI September arrest. Again, no connection between these two stories except as a warning to Raver that Kiefer should never be allowed to drive her kids to any future soccer practices.

It's the Story, of a Baby Not Named Brady: Introducing John Edward Thomas Moynahan

Bridget Moynahan is debuting five-week-old son John Edward Thomas Moynahan, her baby with lothario Tom Brady, on the cover of the latest OK! Magazine. I think he looks like Bridget. Those eyes are definitely not Tom's, since neither of them is wandering.

Moynahan was reportedly paid over $100.000 for the photo shoot and donated the money to charity. Word is that during the interview she refused to talk about ex Brady and his supermodel girlfriend Gisele Bundchen. Although friends tell OK! that Moynahan is doing fine without Brady's help in the parenting department and would like to tell Bundchen that she can have him. Okay, I made that last part up.

Tiger Woods Will Never Be Lacking in Balls

Tiger Woods recently won the FedEx Cup and was rewarded a $10 million retirement annuity by the shipping company. That'll buy a lot of golf balls, and also lots of those pointy things that hold the ball still so you can hit it. Oh yeah - tees.

Woods' wife Elin Nordegren sent a letter to FedEx thanking them for making her family rich. "Your generosity and your $10 million retirement annuity will allow my husband, Tiger Woods, a comfortable retirement...and your overall kindness [is] going to give our newborn daughter, Sam Alexis Woods...a chance at a future." I'm wondering if she sent the letter by UPS.

$10 million is a lot of cash. I don't know about you, but I'm in the wrong business. Anybody want to teach me how to swing one of those heavy metal sticks? I mean, a club.

Gisele Bundchen to Bridget Moynahan's Baby: Don't Cha Wish Your Mama Was Hot Like Me

Bridget Moynahan may be tucking baby John in at night, but it looks like she'll have a constant reminder of who's tucking ex Tom Brady in. Gisele Bundchen, Brady's current squeeze, sent over a baby gift basket to Moynahan last week and among the items was a onesie that had the word 'Supermodel' written across it. Cat fight!

I can't wait until Gisele gets the t-shirt that Bridget's sending to her, the one that says 'My Boyfriend Had a Baby With Bridget Moynahan and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt.'
