Then she was in the 6th season on Dancing With the Stars. Now Marissa is back on Broadway for the final 38 performances of "Hairspray." Course, now she's a mom, so she brings along son Zev Isaac Miller, who is now almost 5 months old.

She gave an interview recently and talked about her return to Broadway.

Regarding her energy level for the show: "I actually have more energy now. The show used to seem like so much work, but now that I'm a mother, I know what tired really is and how much you can do on little sleep."

What about taking Zev to the shows? "Zev has been to three out my first eight shows. My favorite thing is to come up to my dressing room at intermission and have Zev sitting on my couch waiting for me. Matinees are much easier because it's still light out when the show is over. I love that once I open my mouth he knows it's me, even in the Tracy costume!"

How about Christmas in New York City? "I took Zev to the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, but I can't wait to go to Central Park! The very first thing I did was take him to Times Square and take a photo at the Hairspray billboard before they take it down! My whole family is coming here for the week to celebrate with Zev. I think I may just wrap up his toys and pretend they are new... he's only four months old, he will never know!

Hairspray closes for good January 4, so if you're in NYC and can get a ticket, now is the time. Harvey Fierstein is back, too, playing Tracy's mother, Edna.

Source

Marissa Jaret Winokur Talks About Miracle Son Zev Isaac

Marissa Jaret Winokur, famous for her role as Tracy Turnblad in the Broadway musical "Hairspray," talked to People magazine about her newest role as Mom. Son Zev Isaac is now 10 weeks old and Marissa says, "My friends don't want to come over any more because all I do is cry." After all, her being a mom is pretty miraculous.

Marissa won a fight with cancer 7 years ago, but lost her uterus and cervix in the battle. Her and husband Judah Miller used her preserved ovaries and a surrogate early last year to start a family. Pretty amazing.

Now Marissa, 35, joins lots of moms in bragging about her son. He's "perfect," she says. "He was sleeping through the night at three weeks. He loves the water. I love giving him a bath in the sink. Can't wait until I can take him in the pool."

Marissa just posted a nifty little home video of Zev Isaac, which you can see here.

Sports">Derek Fisher is a basketball player. He is also a father. You may recall the NBA playoffs this past season where Derek missed the majority of a game to be by his daughter's side. She is 11-months-old and has cancer in her eye. Derek stayed with her all day in NYC, flew across the country, and came onto the court to the thunderous applause and tears of thousands of fans, his teammates, and even the opposing team. It could have been a movie, except that once the credits rolled and the fans went home, Derek's little girl, Tatum, still had cancer.

She still does, and that is why Derek Fisher is stepping away from basketball to take care of his family. It's the right thing to do.

Fisher doesn't want to retire but acknowledged it's a possibility.

"I'll be 33 in August. I'm 6-1. I averaged 10 points this year," he said.
"I don't know how many people feel strongly about what I do."

Derek, basketball is a game. People feel strongly about what your are doing. Good luck to you and your family.
