School's out! Will your kids be playing in the streets or destroying it virtually on the Xbox?
If the kids are back at home, or if your job is to take care of them, American Public Media is interested in your observations and thoughts about kids at play. Are your kids masters of their own imaginary universe or are they at a loss when their world is unstructured by adults, sports, or technology? Is play what it's always been (irrepressible and spontaneous)? Is it endangered (influenced by marketing and scarce family time)? Or is play, just like kids themselves, changing with the times? What do you notice when you watch kids play and what does it all mean?
Share your experiences with kids and play here. Your thoughts, observations and ideas will help us with upcoming stories on the State of Play. We want to know what you see and what you think about the past, present, and future of playtime.
Go ahead - kick the idea around with your kids, too. Let us know if they roll their eyes or have some nugget of wisdom we've lost in growing up.
Share your experience with American Public Media and other Babble Board readers.
Thanks!
