how often do you nurse your 12 month old?

I nurse mine 4-7 times per 24 hrs I'd guess and he eats three table food meals per day. I'm wondering if I should be breastfeeding less often. No intention of fully weaning anytime soon unless he decides to. Thoughts?

Breastfeeding never worked for me, but we just transitioned my 1-year-old son from formula to cow's milk.  Whatever you do, he should be basically freefeeding -- eating as much as he wants.  So, if you cut back on the nursing, what would you replace it with?  Would it be better than your milk?

My son also has three solid meals a day plus a Yo-Baby mid-afternoon.

If you want to cut back on the nursing, I can say that my son went from formula to cow's milk just fine, even tho they taste completely different.  And surely, in your case, a 1-year-old wouldn't have nipple confusion.

But have you tried sippy cups yet?  My son can't figure them out, or doesn't care to.  He generally sucks on the bottom.
