    Burping

I predominately pump and feed my 10 week old via a bottle.  How often do other mother's burp their bottle fed infants?  I usually feed him 2oz, burp, then burp every ounce thereafter.  I wondered if I should let him eat until he stops to burp, but on the other hand, I don't want him to eat until he has gas pains!  Thanks in advance!

If you are bottlefeeding and he is gassy, it is fine to burp like you are doing.  It won't really hurt anything and it may help!

I have bottle fed twins - one burps about every two ounces, the other guzzles 6 ounces and then burps like a grown man at the end.

When my daughter was first born (she is now 7 months) I would burp her every 2 ounces cause if I didn't she would spit it right back up.  Now that she is older I let her eat until she stop for a break, then I burp her.  Sometimes she can guzzle a whole 8 ounce bottle in like 10 minutes and I just burp her when she is done.
