Wow..... you are scary. Your kids may decide later in life to get shots and pills to cope with the emotional damage you have caused them. Are you sure you're not on drugs?????

I am 28 expecting my first child and I have tubes in my ears.  I got them 2 years ago and they have made some difference.  My infections are less and the pressure and pain is less.

I already had a lot of scaring due to the infections. So I either way you can get it.

I have had ear problems my whole life and I wish now that I had had the tubes when I was young.

    Re: Tubes in Ears

My son is 18 months old. he constantly has ear infections.i mean it feels like we practicaly live at his pediatricians office. As soon as one clears up another one starts. so his doctor said we should get tubes in his ears as soon as possible, so i made an appointment with a specialist [who cannot see us until OCTOBER!]. my question is to anyone who has gone through this.. what should i expect on the first visit to the specialist, do the tubes really help? and also, my son used to say at least 20 words, but now he doesnt. he only says like 3... could that have something to do with his ears and will correcting the problem help him start talking again?

information and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Tubes in Ears

You are crazy to say that. Most babies and kids that have long term problems with ear infection that are untreated have speech and hearing problem, some of which can cause long term problems. My son is 1 and has had ear infections since he was 5 months, if you had to listen to your baby scream and cry and pull at his ears and run fevers over 101.0 week after week you would be looking for some help to. If not that is just mean to make a child have to deal with that kinda on pain nostop. And what are you talking about a  chiropractor on a baby? Maybe it works for you but I wouldn't make my baby hurt  any longer then he has to. I love how people with no medical back ground tries to tell you they know better then the Doctors.

    Re: Tubes in Ears

My daughter had ear infections from Oct 06 straight through to Feb 07 when she had tubes put in the day after her first birthday.  The tubes are the most wonderful thing ever.  i was very nervous about it beforehand but never regretted the decision we made.  Her fever used to run 104 to 105 with every infection. She has had one infection since the tubes and she never even noticed, I only know because she had drainage from her ear.

    Re: Tubes in Ears

My 7 yr old daughter is supposed to get more tubes put in her hears, tonsils out, and adnoieds.  I am so scared and I am not sure that I want to do it.  So many problems with her hearing and speech, but it scares me for her to be put under.  If there are any parents out ther who can share their experiences I would really appreciate it.  Thank you, worried mom.
