Baby bedding that doesn't suck

    Baby bedding that doesn't suck

    I really dislike almost everything I've seen. Registered at Buy Buy Baby yesterday and couldn't stand a single set they had. Not interested in a 25-piece set with a friggin' valance. Really just a bumper and skirt and then I'll mix and match beyond that. I also don't feel like I should have to spend $500 for this. Sheesh.

    Why is everything pastel? And why is everything "modern" chocolate and pink or light blue? Why does it seem that just because I'm having a girl, everyone assumes I want a pastel nursery? Whatever happened to primary colors? Arrrgh. It's all either super tacky or is already looking dated (like Dwell Baby).

    Help! The closest I've seen to what I like is the fabric choices on custom design sites Javis Davis and Polka Tot Designs. Any other suggestions? I can't imagine I'm the only mom-to-be with this aesthetic issue.

    Hmm.  Well not knowing your taste (and being that I like Dwell), that's a tricky one but pottery barn kids has about 90% of the mom's I know sorted. 

    Gap occasionally has very cute bedding.

    landofnod.com has also very cute bedding, very whimsical.

    Serena and Lily and Dwell are great!  I am very happy with Amy Coe from Target.

    I have always liked Pottery Barn Kids and now there are people on Ebay that make matching accessories.  Another company is www.landofnod.com - they have some different ones - albeit a bit expensive.

    How come all the sheets are so scratchy?  How about something with a higher thread count.  I was talking to a girlfriend of mine recently and she pointed out we paid more for our crib sets than our own bedding and it was of lessor quality.  She is right, we spent 250 on that set, and it isn't super soft, and we won't be using it for years to come.  What's up with that?
