Perhaps not humbling, but definitely humiliating.....
When my son was just starting to speak we had a traffic incident where some choice words spilled out of my husband's mouth. My son, at the time, seemed oblivious. However, the next day while shopping in a very crowded store, my son spied a toy that he desperately wanted. He first said "car" and I said, yes, it's a very nice car, but you have lots at home and we don't need any more. To which he responded, F@#k! Car! F%$! Car!
It seemed like the entire store went silent and they were all staring at me and my little cherub with the dirty mouth. I quickly picked up the car and said very loudly, "Yes, darling, Frog, I see the Frog too, next to the car."
