When you adopt, you still take time off. There are other issues involved. Depending on the age of the child, you may have bonding issues and since the child is being moved from what is familiar to him or her, it is important to be with this child before handing him over to yet another person. I am astonished to think anyone would say that adoption is easier because you don't have to go through pregnancy. Being a working mom is the same whether you go through pregnancy or adoption. Who do you want to raise your child? Child care is expensive and day care can be too. And every child is different as a far as separation goes.
