Travel with 7 Week Old Baby

I'm the owner of a company and have plans to attend trade show in Las Vegas for one week. I will be staying at a very nice hotel with my husband who also works in the industry and my mother & stepfather will come with us to take care of the baby while we are at work. Since my baby is still so young I'm concerned about taking him on this trip. Has anyone ever traveled with a 7 week old? If so what was your experience?

Bring a pacifier to use during takeoff/landing so the babies ears won't be bothered.  Buy the baby a ticket and use the carseat while on the plane. Yes, babies can travel on a parents lap but this can be very dangerous due to turbulence and landing.  A baby is safest in their carseat.  Plus, you will need the carseat for when you get to your destination and checking it with the luggage is dangerous.  It can get broken or lost during the flight.

we recently travelled to  a wedding (3 hours away) and stayed at the Ritz, compliments of my brother in law.  it took me three hours to pack, and i found that packing most of the baby stuff in a laundry basket was helpful.  bring enough diapers for every hour of awake time and we used our sleep positioner on a chair with ottoman for a bed. fortunately, we had a lot of space as there was also my 7yr old stepdaughter with us.  we took advantage of the pool and really had a nice time.  good luck

I just traveled to Switzerland alone with my seven week old baby.  I found it helpful to bjorn her during the trip, although I brought the stroller and carseat which served me well as a smarte cart.  It went well--just nursed and pacifier during the takeoff and landing(s--we had four legs), and also used the help of other travelers when I needed to do something like go to the bathroom.  I mean, where are they gonna go wtih your kid in an airplane? The best thing so far is taht I brought her a peapod rather than cart the pack n play with us.  It's awesome.

Obviously you've gone already but hopefully it was a good trip!
