I checked out the baby hawk website and viewed the instructions. i did not see any instruction on carrying the baby infront and facing out, is this possible?

No, I don't think so. Many Chiros don't recommend this position because it puts the back in an unnatural curve - something about the pressure/hold coming from the front and the back of the baby being pressed against the adult's chest, so a lot of babywearers won't carry their children that way for any prolonged period of time, so this isn't usually an issue with the many fans of mei tai-style carriers.

     Is it easy to use?

Absolutely! Liek all carriers, the more you use it the faster and better you become, but it isn't really complicated to start with. I could never master many of the different ways to tie a wrap except for the basic one, but the BabyHawk was a no-brainer for me!

I've lived in Boston and Alberta and bought a new carrier called the Portamee.

It was fantastic because I didn't need to carry anything other than our son.  There were tons of pockets so that I could stash some diapers, treats, attach his sippy cup and go.

    Anyone see this anywhere else??

hi there, i loooooooooove the mei-favorite deluxe with buckles. a great carrier from babies beyond borders. you can get it at www.shaunasworld.com  , there are soooooo many patterns to choose from. the mei-favorite deluxe is a mix of a mei-tai and an ergo. ....and the other great thing, the babies/toddler fall asleep in it, they love it.

Have you had a look at the Cuddle Karrier. It is minimalist in design and very KOOL. It works great with a toddler especially when they are in the up and down stage of exploring and dependancy, as it is really easy to put them in and out without getting feet all over you. Plus you can use it for lots of other things like a portable high chair, eight different uses in all. I have used it for years and love it. It still gets used almost daily as a shoulder tote. Enjoy your time for Grarandma!
