how do you handle afternoon school that interferes with naps

our 2 year-old son was just accepted at a school two days a week, from 1-4pm starting in sept. problem is, his naps, which he relies on and takes without fail (for the most part), are from 12:30 - 2:30. any recommendations about how to approach this? do we just push him through his nap on those two days and hope he's not affected? and then do we pick up his regular nap schedule the other days? won't this all be so confusing for him ,... ?

We had this problem when our son started preschool as well. I find that blowing through the naps on school days is the best thing to do. You will find that your son will go to sleep earlier on those nights and will take naps on the days he doesn't have school. Consistency is best, but around 2/3 the kiddies are a little more flexible. Good luck!

We had a smilar problem when we switched daycare... our daughter, a little younger than our son, ended up switching her nap time, though sometimes she just skipped the nap in the early going. Now she's used to her different time and it works well.
