    nursing a friend's kid?

Ok. I usually think of myself as liberal as the next guy, gal, what-have-you, but the story about nursing another friend's child really weirded me out. I mean, I know the author claims there are no health risks (so long as the surrogate nurser has no communicable diseases...) but it reminded me of that scene from The Hand That Rocks The Cradle...didn't that kid reject his mother's milk because he was getting it from Peyton (or whatever her name was)? I mean....Ewww. Anyone else have a similar reaction? Or am I just a total prude?

Definitely a little strange, yeah. Feels a little like wife swapping … ? But hey, it would definitely be weird for me but I think more power to those two if that's the bond they want to share / use to measure  the depth of their trust and friendship. Basically, I don't think you're alone in your response, but I think it's great that the author was willing to stick her neck out and share a personal experience with us, which I’m sure she expected to get slammed for.

I wouldn't slam the author but man, that whole thought of someone else nursing my kid just really freaked me out.
