Any 35+ Moms with Young Children?

I became a mom at 42.  My son is now 4.5.  I live/work from home in NY, and have found it helpful to connect with other mom "peers"  to share the experience of parenting later in life.  Would like to hear from you, if you fit the bill.  I Blog on the subject at www.motherhoodlater.com.

I became a Mom at 40.5; baby girl is not quite 19 months old.  I work from home 2 days a week, and head into the office MW&F (I work for the feds, so telecommuting is encouraged).  It's been a challenge juggling it all, but I'm LOVING Mommyhood - even this late in the day.  Pregnancy sucked, though - I'm absolutely THRILLED to have my daughter, but you couldn't pay me to get pregnant again, LOL!

I had my daughter 14 months ago, shortly after I turned 43.  She's just the greatest!  I'm working full time, unfortunately -- I hope that will change soon.  I'm in New York, too (Manhattan). For me, the pregnancy wasn't bad, although it had its discomforts; it was after she was born that things got difficult -- getting nursing to work was the hardest thing I've ever done, and I've done a lot of hard things!

I'm 39 and just had my baby boy 6 weeks ago. I'm so in love! It's not always the easiest thing in the world, but I wouldn't trade my "new job" for anything. It's been so unusual to not work for the first time since I was a teenager, but that will not last forever. I'll probably be going back next year. I'd also like to connect with some of my peers, too. I'm in NYC.

I'm 38 and just had my third child 3 weeks ago.  Our daughter is 2.5 and our first son is 15 months.  Yes, we're nuts.  Had one in 2005, 2006 and now 2007.  I know how you feel about not working.  It's GREAT!!  I mean it's more important work than anything you'd ever be "PAID" to do and so worth it.  Fortunately I live in Denmark where we have 1 year of maternity leave.  PAID.  I am extremely lucky and it's so nice to know that I can stay at home, actually that I am expected to and still be paid.  How long will you stay at home?  How is your job about your maternity leave?  Are they just allowing what the law dictates or are they being more lenient?

I'm 36 and had my first child 5 weeks ago. (!!) This week, I decided to leave my work and stay home full time. We're planning - hoping, really - to have 2 more! A great read for those leaving/pausing careers is "Opting Out? Why Women Really Quit Careers and Head Home".
