    chicken pox, anyone?

i'm new here, but am trying to figure out a way to get my kid infected with chicken pox. maybe that sounds horrible, but i'm not a believer in the varicella vaccine, and don't want to be put in the situation of sending letters to a future school about our philosophical reasons for not giving her the vaccine. so, does anyone know if there's some sort of group to expose kids to the chicken pox? i saw this silly simpsons episode where bart was charging parents to bring their kids over and be exposed. sounds crazy, but i'm actually kinda wishing for that. any ideas? besides just going to the park?

Ai carumba!  Sorry to hear about your little ones pox attack.  I've not heard of anything like a group you can go to expose kids to it certainly not here in the UK. I guess you could sneak him into a baby disco and ask the DJ to play Force MDs' 'Itching for a Scratch' to aid matters!  Sounds kinda cruel though I can see the logic.  My three-year old caught chicken pox quite seriously a couple of years ago. I treated it by smothering him with calamine lotion after his bath every night until it cleared up. You can usually buy calamine lotion over the counter in a regular drugstore.  Hope this helps and that it clears up soon.
