My son cut his lip on Saturday while I was sitting right there!! I never saw it. Lots of blood, but no big deal. And he learns nothing, zip, zero from his many spills. He will go right back and do the same thing all over again. Perhaps I should invest in a helmet.

MidL M -- Thanks for the sympathy on the eye -- I'll take it! But as for revealing the family mini-scandal, I know it's not nice to tease, but I can not. Still, I like my mother's idea... so maybe I will spill someday. Actually, I'm sure I will. But not now. Ah well.

Melissa, really interesting stuff. Of course your found history is not bad, but it's always shocking to learn things like this years later. I think sometimes things are so big our relatives imagine we must know them, almost as if my osmosis.

Hey, did I spell osmosis right? I don't think I've ever written it before... hope so! :)

Here's mine. It's not a bad thing, but it was a bit scandalous to me because all my life I'd never heard my mom mention it.

My Russian Jewish mother was quite the rebel in the '40s. While en route to a concert with a "mixed crowd," she was hit by a rock thrown by some "hoodlums" who were shouting racial epithets at them. Not that surprising, since she did end up marrying a black man (my dad) in the 50s. But how did it never come up in conversation???

And NO FAIR teasing us with family skeleton gossip and not sharing the whole shebang. SPILL IT BABY. Okay, I'll go first - it appears we have a long ago relative who was prosecuted for not only deserting during the Revolutionary war, but for also inciting others to desert as well. What is it about vehicles? Axel already has a love of them and he's six months old. I guess big + loud + motion = baby love.

Dining out with the babies is hard, yeah. I've ducked out of more restaurants than I can count. One of them gave me my pasta in a plastic baggie for the road. Weird, but still delicious.

Oh thank you VERY much for the video. That made me laugh into a coughing fit - ALLERGIES. Every tree in the state of MA is in bloom and my immune system is in full revolt. And if I could find the cable that connects my video camera to the computer I could download a fun bit of Cooper. I have found 20 cables so far, none to the damn camera. GAH.

Although I haven't heard of specific recall or link between dog food and pancreatitis, it wouldn't surprise me. Here's a link with all the dog foods that were recalled as part of last year's campaign

Last year it was melanine that was killing animals, and even though they're now more vigilant about that particular chemical, we have no way of knowing what else is in pet food that could be making our animals sick. I just know I NEVER heard of pancreatitis in dogs until the last three months. It's not scientific, I know, but it's still unnerving.

It is just FUNNY how much the little people change over time. I will have to check out the books, Cooper is a bookaholic, but he comes by it honestly on both sides of his gene pool. Glad you survived your first trip away! I haven't done this yet. Not that I don't want to, just haven't had the need.

First of all - I hope nothing is truly wrong with Spam as I like to think of him. We have an ancient beagle, and when the day comes Bob will not be consolable I am sure. It is his dog. I would sell him for a dollar given the chance. No, not true. Yes it is. Nooooo....

Secondly, Hugo seems to be babbling away as far as I can see. Are you still on track to have him evaluated? No doubt he will be deemed fine. But good thoughts and positive healing energy to Super Spam! And tell your man to talk more on the videos. LOVE the accent!

Cooper had chair envy so just today a chair and table were ordered on ebay! You think I am joking, but I am not. When we sit out on the deck he keeps trying to get into the grown up adironack chairs which is a recipe for a trip to the hospital for stitches no doubt. Hopefully having his own elf sized chair will satisfy him.
