What I didn't know is that they were all lurking under that big belly full of baby, in the spots that I couldn't see and that the spouse was

re: Stretch Marks Are the Scourge of Western Civilization

@ tracy

er, I feel sorry for you if a picture of a beautiful pregnant belly makes you uncomfortable. My stretch marks looked just like that, and I am neither ashamed or embarrassed. They are battle scars. Physical reminders of the amazing stretch that my stomach endured, and I think they are beautiful. Why is it that when men get scars from snowboarding or motorcycle accidents, they are a symbol of pride, but when women get scars from growing a human being in their belly for 40 weeks, they are shameful and ugly? I say, women embrace your stretch marks!

I gained 40 lbs with my enormous son, and not a strecth on me. Same with baby #2, My mom had 3 kids and has none. Sister too. I used NOTHING on my belly, as even cocoa butter made me break out in a rash.

Sucks, but if you're gonna get them, there's not much you can do about it.

We were allowed to do treatments on ourselves, so i did of course. I had very light stretch marks on my hips and i gave myself treatment after treatment. Never worked. Save yourself the thousands. And retin-a is very unsafe.

If you DO want to try something, try microdermabrasion on them. tell em not to be too gentle either. You'll still need a bunch of treatments, but your skin looks pretty great afterwards. Its not going to take em away completely, but they'll look WAY better! That'll only cost you hundreds.

And no matter what DONT USE HYDROQUINONE!
