My son's name is Addison. I hate to see it used as a girl's name for it is originally a boy's name, meaning "Son of Adam". People need to research names a little deeper when naming their kids. This name dates way back to earlier times where many famous men were named Addison. My wife and I always thought it was a cool name for a boy for we are big Cub fans and Wrigley Field in Chicago is located on Addison St. If you want to remain unique......people need to use it as a boy's name instead for it sounds tougher for a boy's name!!

we tried to be different and named our son "Auden"... I guess that we are also like everyone else. oh well. my daughter is "eliot". and so i guess that we are a little gay, too... but i like the names addison and autumn and simon and also sofia. i'm a sarah and i am starting to think that it is less important to have a unique baby name. the classics are good, too.

Hi Autumn!!!, I also "hate the name Addison". I had once tried out that name on my asshole ,but settled on Autumn instead..Please try to expand your dreaded existence.

We're trying to pick names that are less popular... but then, who knows what next year will bring? Simon is 2 now, and the one coming along will be... oops, maybe I shouldn't say. Wouldn't want to give anyone any ideas... ;)

When we named our son Jack, we had no idea it was so popular. Our next son we name Theodore and decided to call him Teddy thinking it was a fairly unique name. Then two weeks later the last Harry Potter book came out and Harry names his kid Teddy. We know that because of that there will probably be 12 kids named Teddy in his class. We just can't win.

Growing up, I was the only Sofia/Sophia in my class. In fact, the only other Sofia/Sophia I encountered was this other woman I was once introduced to in my college cafeteria. Very few people had my name, even though the name was classic and there was a Sofia in the Golden Girls and, of course, Sophia Loren. Now every other girl who is 6 y/o and under shares my name. It's funny how this name trends work.

I hate the name Addison. My mother's dog has Addisons disease. I know a gal who named her kid Addison Ryan. It is a girl! Then she names the boy Jayden. How gay is that?
