Sure you do. Organic = good, right? And that baby cereal, it's pretty handy, it just mixes with your chosen liquid and poof! cereal for your baby. Except when it has lumps that won't dissolve . Yeah, you

re: Things Fall Apart: Gerber's Clumping Choking Organic Baby Cereal

I had both the oatmeal and rice versions that were recalled - there wasn't a problem with mine - it didn't clump so I'm pretty sure not all boxes were affected.

Yes it's great to make your baby's food - but that cereal is a good source of zinc and iron and it can sometimes be difficult to get a picky baby to eat alternative sources of those nutrients.

oh and btw I basically made all of my kid's food. it's not for everyone. and I tried feeding my kid homemade rice porridge except he HATED IT. just like he hated the ready made stuff.

"The best thing about making all your baby food at home is that you don't have to worry about the recalls. I'm glad I chose not to open that box, despite what our pediatrician said!"

Hmmmm... a little smug? Geez people. It's good that you make your own baby food. In fact, I make most of my baby's food, but just because I make his food doesn't mean that I am free from recalls. What about all that spinach that had E. coli recently? And why does stuff like this always have to bring out the judgmental crap?

what's WAY better? check out the rice porridge recipe in super baby food by ruth yaron. all you do is put uncooked rice in the blender and grind it up, then keep in your fridge until you are ready to cook it up. i just put 2.5 tbsp in a big pyrex bowl with a cup of water and mike it at 50% for ten minutes. so! much! better! [and way less constipating!]
