&lt;p&gt;a) It gives its entry-level employees guides on how to apply for public assistance (don't let that average fool you, it takes into account upper management!)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;b) it has (in the past) encouraged employees to work off the clock, especially if that time spent is overtime&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;c) (my personal favorite), the surviving heirs of the Walton family, who collectively are potentially the wealthiest people alive, give roughly only 1% of their net worth to charity. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Yeah, they're bad people.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;As for Wal-Mart, some evils are necessary. If they can benefit those that don't have as many options available to them, then good for them.&lt;/p&gt;
