Why would someone call 911 if someone elses door is left open? And they did it twice? I leave my front door open all the time, and I have kids to. I would be very angry if the police showed up just because my front door was open, since when is that illeagel(sp?). Look at what the calls were for, don't just say "oh, the police were called eight times, that must mean she's abusive!"

And, to add to that, since when is it any of our business how many children someone has? My husband came from a family of ten, and both of his parents came from families of at least nine. None of my Grandparents came from families of less than seven.

So, she doesn't work, big deal, being a mother is a full time job, why is everyone choosing her to pick on? If I had that many kids, I'd be doing everything I can to get money for them too, including selling the story, and so would many of you.

And she's on welfare? So are thousands of other families, if anything, she needs it more, at least she's not spending it on ciggarettes and drugs and alchohol like I've seen many a family on welfare do. Lots of families are on welfare, your tax money pays for them to, so why is everyone mad that their taxes go to this woman along with all the rest?

There are much better things that you can focus your anger on. Use that energy for something usefull, like fighting hunger or disease or poverty. Fight for peace and equal rights and tolerance. Help people, don't make them miserable for bringing life into the world.

"...if I weren't educated!" Octomom has such a high regard for herself; she is indeed crafty; having all these children and not having to WORK; I hope she likes being infamous. I feel so sorry for her children and I still hope that authorities remove them from her. She's selfish; narcissist and an UNFIT parent. She should NOT be rewarded for what she's done: single parents can't afford Nintendo Wii's, manicures/pedicures, etc. PLEASE DON'T GIVE THIS LADY ANY MONEY!!!!!! She's laughing at us!

C'mon, people, this woman has a serious psychological problem! All these kids are at her mercy, and she is obviously an unfit mother. Notice the hospital hasn't yet allowed her to have 8 more at home, thus compounding the problem. Children's Protective Services have entered the picture, and I think it's about time!

By it's nature, these calls do point to bad parenting. Not intentional or through neglect, but by being overwhelmed. If you are going to be a good parent you need to be able recognize when you are in over your head and that you need help. To me, it's bad parenting on her part because she isn't able to put her selfish desires aside for the betterment of her own kids. She needs more help than just her parents at this point, and I think could have even used more before she got pregnant again. What a mess.

Not that the police are coming to visit me often, because they aren't, but they have. My then 8 year-old son dialed 911 and told the operator he was sad because his grandma was dead ( he forgot to mention she had died 3 weeks earlier and was buried). He went into another room to get a book and was out of my sight. He learned to call 911 at school....and he's autistic. The police came, and told him not to do it again. That's it.

lee - i agree. i am one of six children from a blended family, so we were all close in age like nadya's kids. never in my entire childhood were the police called for any reason. also, no one ever suspected that my parents were abusing or neglecting us, the reason being that they clearly were not! eight calls in one year sounds really suspicious to me, and reinforces the fact that this woman clearly does not have the means or emotional capacity to truly care for all her children with any real quality. i just hope some kind of intervention occurs before anything tragic happens to any of the kids...

cnoelk: I am one of five children and the police never had cause to visit our home -- I'm not sure the number of children living in a house correlates to the number of 911 calls.

I don't know...I would think that leaving the front door open twice (long enough for people to notice and the police to be called!) would be considered pretty damning for someone who has 6 kids in the house, a few of which are special needs. Kind of scary...

I suspect the amount of 911 calls one is compelled to make increase with the amount of children one has. I am concerned about the wellbeing of Octomom's children, but nothing in the police reports suggest that there is a good reason to take them away.

The police were called to her home EIGHT TIMES last year? That's crazy. I haven't called the police eight times in my entire life. I guess they better just assign a couple of cops as her personal servants now.
