Dad - I understand your frustration, and perhaps, for some, it is. However, many ministers, preachers, pastors, priests, rabbis spend significant amounts of energy, time, emotional investment, and self-doubt in working to lead their congregations, to console the sick and hurting, to provide assistance to families in need. But if you feel the same way about social workers, therapists, and aid agencies, then I guess I don't have the means to contradict you!

and please view the clip in it's entirety...b/c he's basically saying that unless the man is the breadwinner, he's a failure as a man. there are lousy parents of BOTH genders, and also lots of good ones. but to reduce this to a simple men/women issue is short-sighted, at best. so what is your stance, cassie...why with the hostility.

ok, cassie, i admit, i'm relatively new to the babble blogs, so, if you can come up with a name that men use to cleanse their penises in such a way, i'll gladly use that instead of the hideous 'douchebag' slander.

btw...from what i've read...is there anything you're NOT offended by. just a question...and did some heartless - insert gender-friendly expletive here - mess up your life. 'cause i'm not sure what the problem is here. you don't appear to like men OR women.

I LOVE this. Because of course a child would not be enriched by a loving and close relationship with her fsther. Clearly the time my dad spent with me when I was little was just him sitting on his butt, not an investment in a friendship which has endured to this day and is now enjoyed by my own children and that of my brother because my dad took the time to know and love his children when we were little. Because dads only matter as a a paycheck--how silly I was to marry the kindhearted social worker whose children adore him and vice versa.

I use 'douchebag'...<insert feminist spiel on why we have to smell pretty here but I choose to spare you>...because it IS a dirty word. I like my parts to NOT smell like a "spring breeze" and anybody who tells me to do something as harmful to my body as douching IS a douchebag and can shoove it. (oh, the visuals). SO douchebag is a fitting word.

Oh and I take offense at the term "douchebag". Why is the lowest of the low referred to as an item women use to cleanse thier vaginas? Is it truely the nastiest thing in the world? Why not call them toilet bowl or cesspool?

Was he referring to men that choose to stay home to raise their children or men who really dont want to work? There are a ton of those around here buddy. Their wives or usually, girlfriends have good jobs and the man stays home sleeping all day, "watching" the kids or hanging with the homeys on the corner by the 7/11. When the woman gets tired of it they just move back in with their moms until they get another benefactor to take them in. Oe of these jerks got the cops called on him when my neighborn picked up his 5 year old on the side of a busy street. She was trying to walk back to school after getting off the school bus and being unable to get into ther house since the door was locked. It was freezing cold, too. Mr. Mom was "asleep" upstairs while his 13 months old son, clad only in a diaper, was locked in his room all day with a tv on. No bottles, no clean diaper, no stimulation. The wife came rushing home from work after we called the cops on this upstanding middle class family. The little girl told us daddy sleeps all day and she feeds the baby when she gets home everyday. Nice stay home dad.

so...my father, who raised my brother and i when we were small, fed and looked after other neighborhood kids, and handled the housework and meals so my mother - who had achieved a higher level of education - could work, was, in fact, a bum. thanks for clearing that up, douchebag. i forgot, women should either be stay at home moms or heiresses, just not, gasp - WORKING. this is stupid for both gender.
