They Like Big Butts, and They Can Not Lie: Survey Finds Men Prefer Bigger Body Sizes

Drop that rice cake. I said drop it! For years, okay centuries, women have tortured, teased and starved themselves in the hope of reaching that ideal body size. One would assume this was all for the men. If that’s the case, someone should have asked the men, because ladies have been doing it wrong all along.

According to a body survey in the UK mag Fabulous, women claim their ideal body size is a 6. When asked, the men said they though the ideal female body size should be a 10. See the pic for a comparison.*

*These are UK measurements. Size 8 is equivalent to the U.S. size 6, size 12 is a U.S. size 10 and size 16 is a U.S. size 14.

Which begs the question, who have women been starving themselves for? When you ask your guy, “Do you like skinny girls?” and he says “no,” instead of reflexively calling him a liar and hitting him, maybe you should listen. He’s been telling the truth all along. So maybe it’s time to cut out the unending parade of diets and accept the fact men like women the way they look, maybe even more so with a few more pounds. And maybe before you ladies lose all the baby weight, take a second look at how thin you really need to be. The first round of fettuccini is on me.

For the record, I think all those ladies up there are hot.

Just in time for Father’s day, I am giving you dads out there the greatest present of all: I’m showing you how good a father you are by showcasing these famous dads who are totally worse.

Pete Doherty

If you are not familiar with this British rocker/cocaine enthusiast, meet Pete Doherty. Pete is known for two things: dating the elder statesman of super models, Kate Moss, and spending more time doing drugs than breathing. I could go on all day about what a stellar father Doherty makes, but why should I when, 1) this photo speaks volumes;

and 2) this quote from Pete himself speaking of the young son he has never seen does the job: “I’ve got two (children). Poor little fu%*er. My sister sees him all the time, so there’s affection as a family for him.” Somebody put that in a greeting card.

Alec Baldwin

I love Alec Baldwin. Actually for a long time I didn’t enjoy Alec Baldwin’s acting because it seemed to me stiff and pompous. Nothing has changed about his acting style, but now that Alec has determined he is a comedic actor, his stiff and pompous act totally works. A far as fatherhood, though, well, let us give a listen to a certain phone call Alec placed to his daughter.

Although I myself do not yet have a teenage daughter, I'll bet many father's get this pissed at their adolsecent kids. Which goes to prove the old adage, the only differnce between a good father and a bad ftaher is a tape recorder.

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson has been laying low for a while. Reeeeeeeal low. That’s good, because this is what he does when he addresses the public.

Michael Lohan

ME: Hey Michael Lohan, father of Lindsey Lohan, I’d like to include you in my article about terrible celebrity dads.”
Michael Lohan: “Alright.”
ME: “Listen, could you submit me a photo?”
ML: “Sure, here’s this.”

ME: “Um, you got anything that doesn’t have you in a wifebeater? Maybe something that doesn’t instantly peg you as a sleaze bag?”
ML: “But Cole, when I'm not in prison for securities fraud, I'm driving drunk. David Hasselhoff

You don’t Hassle the Hoff. Like when he’s lying shirtless on the floor trying to negotiate a particularly wily hamburger. And you don’t tell him he’s got a drinking problem, even if you’re his kid. And you especially don't videotape the whole affair.

Darth Vader

Almost didn’t make this list. Darth did display a lot of bad dad behavior (chopping off your son’s hand usually piques the interest of CPS. Also not knowing you have a daughter is a red flag.) But in the end, you have to give Darth credit, he and Luke did bond in a nice father-son activity (killing the Emporer) and then spent some quality time in the hanger bay before old Darth turned into a ghost. If that’s not as good as playing a little catch with the kid, I don’t know what is.

Rick Hilton

Rick, I don’t know how to say this…do you exist? I have seen plenty of your daughter. Oh lordy, I have seen way too much of your daughter, but not so much of you. What magic spell will it take the cardboard cutout this picture reveals you to be and transform you into a living breathing person who, you know, parents his daughter?

George Foreman

How is George Foreman as a parent? I’m not sure but if you take a look at his kids’ names, you might get an idea of what his sole motivation for becoming a parent in the first place: George Jr., George III, George IV, George V and George VI George Travis Walls.
Why build statues of tribute to yourself when you can just have kids to live in your perpetual, egomanical shadow?

Oh Joe Simpson, you silly, funny, incredibly creepy man. One might say that as a dad you are “too involved.” But I don’t think so. Is it strange to take semi-erotic publicity photos of your own child, like this one I can't show you because I would have to pay...you guessed it, Joe Simpson?

Is it beyond the pale to make regular references to your daughter’s ample assets? Like this:

“Jessica never tries to be sexy. … She just is sexy. If you put her in a T-shirt or you put her in a bustier, she’s sexy in both. She’s got double D’s! You can’t cover those suckers up!"

Oh Joe, you had me at, “You can’t cover those suckers up.” And if you prudes out there think there is something wrong with this manager father and the vested interest he has in the chest of his internationally renowned sexpot daughter, we’ll let said daughter put you at ease. From the mouth of Jessica:

No, I’ve had double D’s for a long time. Are you kidding? No. My family is extremely close. I talk to my mom about my sex life. That’s not something that creeps me out. We’re Podunk Southern. And my dad is very open about his ideas and…it’s disgusting that people would actually think…people are making a judgment on something that is false.

See? It’s not incestuous. It’s “Podunk southern.” Totally different.

To be fair, Joe's interest in his daughter's body is purely business. As her manager, Joe knows a great deal of Jessica's success is due to her body and that her body is, in fact, a product to be packaged and sold. Just like a pimp does.

Tom Cruise – Sorry you didn’t make the main list. Hard to tell how bad a dad you are when no one sees your kid.

The next time someone says, "Why, your precious little angel is cute enough to be a Gerber (TM, I'm sure) baby!" just wheel around and snarl, "We only pose for organic in our house." Okay, so maybe you wouldn't say that, but the parents of fifty Colorado babies and toddlers might. Each was chosen from 1,000 online entries to vie for a chance to have his or her face plastered all over organic baby food jars. The next face of organic baby food! It's all about having the right head shots and representation, I hear. The statewide winner will compete against contestants from other states. Apparently the talent competition is a little lackluster, what with most of the contestants going for a piss-poor rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".

The mom of one lucky 7-month-old entrant said she "jumped up and down" when she heard they were chosen, and she "had her daughter to take a nap before her photo shoot so that she’d be alert and rested." I think I heard Kate Moss' handler say the same thing the other day. Stay away from the coke, babies, even if they tell you it's pesticide-free.

Lily Allen is adorable. I love her uniquely British blend of tough-but-tender-girl-ska-pop. At 22 years of age, she a cute kid who seems to have a strong sense of herself, her likes and her dislikes: She's the first to admit that she enjoys the hell out of a beer and a snog; She can pull off ghetto gold jewelry, paired with a flirty frock (fabulous!); And she has made no secret of the fact that she rejects the notion that a woman has to be thin to be beautiful.

In an industry filled with homogeneous waifs, Lily stand out for being real - for having a real body that she is in the process of learning to love. As the mother of two young girls, and as a woman, I love her for bring real about the pressure to be thin that all young women face, and singing lyrics like "I wanna be able to eat spaghetti bolognese/ And not feel bad about it for days and days and days/ In the magazines they talk about weight loss/ If I buy those jeans I can look like Kate Moss/ Oh no it's not the life I chose/ But I guess that's the way that things go..."

The launch of Lily's new line of dresses, designed with "real women" in mind, is perfectly timed to combat the national wave of teenage anorexia that is sure to follow the launch of Kate Moss' clothes line for Barbies. Lily says "Kate's clothes are just for skinny, perfect girls. I won't be buying any. ... My bum and legs are revolting, which is why I wear dresses all the time. And I put in wider straps to hide the arm bits we all hate. I was really excited about doing my collection because I know what it's like to feel uncomfortable in clothes."

Okay, so clearly she's still struggling to accept her body as it is. Who isn't? By being honest about the self-love process, and proactive about finding clothes that fit and flatter, she's taking matters into her own hands, and not starving herself to fit into a size 6. Hopefully, she will inspire millions of young women to do the same.

That's something for mothers of young girls everywhere to 'Smile' about.

Kate Moss' New Clothes Line Only Goes Up to Size Six: Little Girls Everywhere Throw Up their Lunch

Dear Kate Moss,

You don't have to eat if you don't want to. I understand you use cocaine too. Fabulous. You are very thin and glamorous. I hear you are launching a new line of clothing that only goes up to a size six.

I guess what I am asking is if you could come over to my house and explain to my daughter why your internal organs won't last five more years. Can you help me teach her that even though she will probably be 5' 11" while she may fit into a size six in 10th grade, why it might not be very healthy for her to be that thin in her 30s.

Maybe you could find someone else to come talk to her. I too have battled the demons that are eating disorders. I blame assholes like you for teaching my son that women are supposed to look like they haven't eaten in months. Concentration Camp chic?

You are very thin. Hooray for you. Assuming that everyone else is a size 0,2,4, or 6 is asinine. You are a jerk and I am not only boycotting your clothing line but from here on out I will not support any company that hires you as a model. I cannot think of a worse role model.

Kate Moss: "My Daughter Is My Partner in Crime"

Hard-partying model Kate Moss told British that when her daughter Lila, now 4, was born, "I felt like, now I've got a partner in crime...I'm never going to have to be on my own again."

True to fashion form, Kate describes her daughter as "a Mini-me" when it comes to couture. "She comes in at bedtime and says, 'Mummy, do you think this is a good look?' and then she has a fashion crisis. I say, 'You will wear what I tell you,' but she says she's the adult of the bedroom. Now we lay the clothes out before she goes to bed but then she goes, 'Mum, I need options.'" Perhaps now that Kate has her own clothing line (out May 1), she will.

While her reputation as a coke-snorting groupie may not be traditionally motherly, Kate acknowledges that Lila's dad, publisher Jefferson Hack, helps balance the little girl's life. Jefferson is what Kate calls "a great dad – somehow that was Mother Nature's intervention." Here's hoping that Mother Nature will have the time to intervene again, before Kate marries her current fiance, Britain's famously disgusting smack addict, Pete Dougherty. Little Lila deserves better.
