A 25-year-old Canadian soldier has received a light sentence
for repeatedly assaulting his six-month-old triplets.
The 25-year-old father, who remains anonymous to protect the identity of his
children, returned from a three-and-a-half-month tour in Kandahar, Afghanistan
suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Not surprisingly, caring for his
triplet infants and two-year-old son proved more than he could handle.
Desperate to make his babies stop crying, the soldier
repeatedly squeezed and occasionally bit them. He was charged with assault after
the babies were taken to the hospital with a total of 19 broken bones.
