We've probably all got the image in our mind of what happens when
one woman's "baby" has a baby of her own: A glowing new grandmother
rushes to her daughter's home and settles in for a week at
least--cooking, cleaning, changing diapers, coaching the new mother on
breastfeding, swaddling and bathing her new bundle of joy. Later,
grandma cheerfully offers to babysit, goading "you two go out and have
fun! Don't worry about a thing! You deserve it!"I'm not sure where this little fairy tale comes from, but it's a far cry from the reality for many new parents.
