Rapper Remy Ma (née Reminisce Smith, Remy Martin) was sentenced to 8 years in jail
on Wednesday for shooting Makeda Barnes Joseph in "a dispute over
money." The judge in the case, Rena Uviller, told Remy that she was, "a
young woman whose anger is out of control."
Why mention this here? Because when the case was over, Remy pleaded for
a lighter sentence, citing her difficult childhood -- and her
7-year-old son.
