Sir Paul McCartney, the poor ol' bugger, has agreed to pay his goldbrickin' arch nemesis ex-wife, Heather Mills, a whopping $56 million - that's £29 million - as part of their mutually agreed upon divorce settlement, which also includes real estate property and child support.
Nasty up to the bitter end, sources say Heather used the couple's 3-year-old daughter, Beatrice Milly McCartney, as leverage, to squeeze as much money out of Paul as she possibly could (she was seeking sole custody, which Paul was adamantly against). The settlement amount works out to roughly £696 per hour, for every day that they were married! I bet Paul would pay double that amount just to be able to forget the whole thing ever happened. I mean, it would be one thing if Paul and Heather had been together while he made all his money, but since that's not the case - not by a long shot - it's just kind of sad.
I feel sorry for Paul - after all, it was his idea to forgo the pre-nup, which was a dumb-ass move. Oh, hippies. But he looks like he's on the up and up these days - no more hair dye, or suits worn with "trainers," to pacify his young(ish) wife. And he's got a more important little lady to worry about than "Mucca" - adorable little Bea. I say good luck to the two of them, and good riddance to that other one.
