 The 79th Academy Awards nominations were announced yesterday, and actors who also happen to be parents are well-represented. The Celebrity Baby Blog has thoroughly analyzed the list of nominees and notes the thespian parents and names and ages of their children.
Moms and dads up for awards include: - Kate Winslet, Best Actress for Little Children—daughter Mia, 6, and son Joe, 3.
- Meryl Streep, Best Actress for The Devil Wears Prada—son Henry, 27, and daughters Mary, 23, Grace, 20, and Louisa, 15.
- Forest Whitaker, Best Actor for The Last King of Scotland—son Ocean, 16, daughters Sonnet, 10, and True, 8, and stepdad to Autumn, 15. (He wins the award for coolest names, but would you expect anything less from Forest Whitaker?)
- Eddie Murphy, a.k.a. "the biggest ass ever," Best Supporting Actor for Dreamgirls—daughter Bria, 17, son Christian, 15, and daughters Shayne, 12, Zola, 6 ˝, and Bella, 4 ˝, as well as two other unacknowledged children. Believed to be father of Mel B’s baby, due in late spring
- Mark Wahlberg (shown with daughter), Best Supporting Actor for The Departed—daughter Ella, 3, and son Michael, 10 months. (He's my pick to win. He was fucking brilliant in The Departed.)
