A baby moose foraging for something to eat near the foundation of a
Spokane house slipped into the well of a basement window. When the
calf tried to struggle its way out of the trap, it kicked through the
window and tumbled right into a bedroom.
Thankfully, there was not a baby sleeping below the window!
The
baby moose, weighing 375 pounds was shot with a tranquilizer gun,
hauled up the narrow basement staircase and reunited with its mother
and sibling. Later the whole moose family was trucked to a wilder
location and let go.
No word on whether or not homeowner's insurance paid for a replacement window.
