By now you've probably heard about the children, ages 1 and 3, whose
minivan went out of control and plunged into a retention pond near
Disney World and were saved by five Good Samaritans
who unthinkingly jumped in to save them. And, like me, you're probably
thinking all sorts of wonderful and warm fuzzy thoughts about the
rightness of the world and wonderful coincidences and being in the
right place in the right time. Right?
But then I got to thinking, Would
I have stopped if I saw that minivan go into the water? And would I
have gone in the water myself to save whoever was trapped in the van?
