Okay, fine, only the first part of that title is true. A family found a stray kitten, who was then taken in by a three-year-old dachshund named Lillie. Somehow the baby jonse in Lillie kicked in lactation, and she's been managing to nurse the little furball. "'That's not going to happen very
often,' said veterinarian John Beck, who added that the 'kitten got
lucky, basically' that he found a dog with those maternal instincts."
Unfortunately, after photos of the dog nursing the kitten in public appeared in the paper, a small controversy erupted on a interspecies parenting blog. Nursing in public was compared to sniffing people's crotches, which sounds worse than it is, cuz dogs aren't that opposed to the practice. Long story short, some canines posted photos of their many nipples on the internet. We'll keep you updated as the story unfolds.
