  I was working at the Oakland Tribune when Kenneth Parnell was arrested yet again -- this time for trying to buy a 4-year-old boy. It was disturbing to have a front row seat to this monster's latest crimes. You might not remember Parnell from his first conviction in 1952, when he molested an 8-year-old boy. • Two Unrelated Stories: New Standards Set For Catching Pedophiles, and Neverland Ranch Is In Foreclosure

  Well, when there just isn't enough time in the day to write two whole blog posts (and believe me, I throw my soul into each and every one of these) I am left with no choice but to cover two stories at once. The first is that Interpol reports they have set a new precedent in the way they conduct international hunts for pedophiles. Detectives in many countries were trying to find Christopher Paul Neil after German authorities found photos of him abusing children on the internet. He had concealed his identity by digitally swirling his face in photos, but law enforcement figured out how to unswirl the pics and released his photo worldwide. He was caught, and Interpol voted to use this tactic again. They decided the dangers to children outweighed the fear people would try and seek their own brand of justice on the suspects.
