I have to admit, I get a little freaked out when I think about surgery in utero.
I mean, babies are tiny enough as it is, and hard enough (I would
imagine) to operate on after they've actually been born. But cutting
through both mom and baby in order to rearrange things, correct things,
wow. It's amazing but also a little...weird? But somehow, thinking that
it also saves lives makes a huge difference. And not long ago, a first-of-its-kind surgery was done that did, in fact, save a tiny life. Cool, eh? Here's what happened:
