One of my little demons darlings has Celiac
Disease, which means she can't ingest anything with gluten in it. Once
we got the official diagnosis, all foods that had even the slightest
trace of wheat, rye or barley in them immediately went on the verboten
list. At first, it was an enormous ordeal. At 18 months in, it's not so
bad -- especially since my daughter the Diva is now so vibrantly
healthy.
The gluten free life isn't so bad. Any diet that lets
you eat chocolate and corn chips isn't a hardship. Some situations,
however, are still a massive pain in the heiner. Eating out can be
tricky, especially once you factor in a 5-year old's food fussiness.
It's tough to come up with gluten free baked goods that don't taste,
well, like gluten free baked goods.
