I had a funny reaction to the recent New York Magazine cover
story about Chelsea Clinton. Maybe its
because her dad was the first President I voted for, and I remember how Bill
and Hill tried to keep her out of the limelight. The press actually respected
the notion that the First Daughter was off-limits. Even now, as she hits the
campaign trail in support of mom's Presidential bid, they've been fairly hands
off; even this article was written with limited participation from Chelsea or
anyone close to her.
But back to, you know, me. When I started the article, which
talks about her experience stumping for mama Hillary, my first thoughts were
bizarrely protective. When the article mentions that she is "a
flirt...like her father," I suddenly became her older brother: "Hey!
What are you doing, talking about Chelsea like that?"
