In this case, it's girls' classroom, boys' classroom -- a public elementary school in the St. Louis area has been experimenting with single-sex education
and so far both parents and pupils seem pleased. At the Carman Trails
School boys and girls are offered the option of single-sex classrooms
starting in the first grade -- the program, now two years old, extends
to the third grade but it seems likely it will expand upward.
