  Back when I was a kid, waaaaay back in the late '70s and early '80s, I was a Magic Shell junkie. I had whole rituals devoted to the stuff -- and always made sure to put enough on so that there'd be hard chunks to pry up once the ice cream was gone. • Want To Raise a Gambler? Give Your Kid Lottery Tickets

  Meh. I don't actually know how I feel about this. Can I be on the fence? Here's my thinking: on the one hand I see where exposure to addictive behavior like drinking, drugs, and gambling can trigger an already addictive personality or send messages that those behaviors are okay. But on the other hand I really really really hate the idea of certain behaviors being discouraged or made illegal simply because some people think they are undesireable. I'd much rather give people the benefit of the doubt to make their own decisions. So how does this relate to giving kids lottery tickets? Easy. Read More...
