Jennifer Lopez told Ellen DeGeneres that she was desperate to become a mother but that she would prefer to have a biological child. I guess there has been a lot of talk about Lopez and Marc Anthony (her husband) adopting a child from Puerto Rico. Is it just me or has adopting become trendy?
Now, don't get me wrong. I think adoption is good. I know there are many children out there who need good homes, and wonderful people who want to be parents or just want more kids. I have friends that are adopted and friends that have adopted children of their own. I am not suggesting that people shouldn't adopt, I am just saying that because of Angelina Jolie and Madonna the press seems to expect more famous people to adopt babies. I think this is a strange phenomenon.
Normally I would give J Lo a hard time for stressing she wanted a biological child. It sounds crass, but at this point in time I just have to assume that she was pressured into talking about it. She also said that they hadn't ruled out adoption, they were just hoping that 'God would bless' them soon.
