Erin K. Blakeley is Catholic, her husband is Jewish, and their son is...um... In Babble's latest personal essay, Blakeley recounts the process of choosing a religion for her son.
Blakeley and her husband agreed that faith for their son was important, they just weren't sure which. After all, they aren't really religious and the Lord's name is usually only uttered at their house when they've "lost (their) internet connection or broken a wine glass."
So—they talked. They consulted friends and family. They reflected on their past personal experiences and family traditions: decorating Easter eggs, a Bar Mitzvah, Christmas trees, Hebrew school.
