Sonogram Cufflinks for Father's Day ... or a Pro-Life March

Posted by Madeline Holler

If your man his hard to shop for, Father's Day gifts present the ultimate challenge. But remember, there's no shame in gift certificates. Or socks. Or even sentimental things like pictures, poems, and playlists.

I am having a hard time getting behind these cufflinks, though. They're not just any decorative sleeve closure, they're personalized.

With your baby's first picture -- the sonogram one.

Not only do sonograms not scale well for the face of a cufflink, but they look like something a snazzy dresser might wear to an anti-abortion rally. If your man's into picketing Planned Parenthood, they're probably perfect. (Just $65 a pair and turnaround time is fast -- order by June 15.)

Me? I might stick to gift certificates.

Would it be any different if it were the child's newborn picture?  (Not a cufflink, but I have a bracelet charm that is my child's picture.  Newborn.)

So now a dude wearing cufflinks with his baby's sonogram is going to be connected to evil anti-choice rallies?  That is quite a stretch.  I put my sonograms up on MySpace, does that mean that I am trying to make everyone "pro-life"?

And what person is going to wear a shirt with french cuffs to a rally that most likely no one will really notice?

I don't think the sonogram pics scale very well. They look odd on cufflinks. I don't think I'd want pics of my kids on my wrists either, for what that's worth. Cufflinks should have designs on them.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go online and buy pants for the first time in 3 years.
