Fountain Shoots, Um, Breastmilk?

Posted by JeanneSager

Still freaked out over breastfeeding in public? Then we're going to guess you won't be posing for pictures in front of any of the host of water fountains around the world that feature women pumping . . .in very public places.

Because what else do you call the mermaids in the celebrated Piazza Del Netunno (Neptune) in Bologna, Italy? With water shooting out of their nipples, it makes you wonder if the architect had a nursing mom at home:

And what do you make of the Fontana delle Tette in Treviso? More Italians love for mama?

So what do you think? Were these the first examples of pumping in public?

Culturally Italians are into boobs.  Full breast-feeding boobs are just sexier.  Don't mistake the love of breast-feeding for not seeing the boobs as sex objects when it comes to this particular culture.  Breast-feeding = sexy mama in Italy.  Course I don't think either the men or the women have issues with that idea.
