Let’s say you and your daughter have a strained relationship. To reach out to your offspring would you a) continue to call, email and text b) drive across town to talk in person or c) put a post on your website, airing your dirty laundry for all to see. If you are Candy Spelling, your riff with your celebrity daughter would drive you to to the very public choice c.
In the open letter, Candy reiterates what she wrote in her book "Stories from Candyland", that was released last month, by saying “I was a celebrity by marriage, then a celebrity by motherhood. That means my life is public. I’m used to it. It comes with the territory.” What prompted this attempt at outreach? A new Tori Spelling book entitled Mommywood is being released today. Candy believes “the war of words will escalate” and this is her way to perhaps diffuse the daughter mother bomb.
This duo seems to be communicating more via their published books then over a nice holiday dinner. If you were in Candy’s heels would you issue a “public letter” or try harder to resolve it privately? Or do you think this is just a part of a publicity stunt to promote her own book which was recently released (with a Amazon rank of #366 vs. Tori's new book at #104).
